Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 13, 2026

This policy explains what information is processed when you use Converters and Formatters (the "site"), operated by Charset Web, Quebec, Canada. We do not ask you to create an account and we do not sell personal information.

Person responsible for personal information

John Pires, founder of Charset Web, is responsible for the protection of personal information. You can reach him at convertersandformatters@gmail.com.

Data you enter in the tools

The formatters and unit converters run in your browser. JSON, XML, spreadsheets, numbers and other values you type, paste or upload are processed on your device and are not sent to or stored on our servers.

The currency converter downloads exchange rates from our server, which obtains them from Open Exchange Rates. The amounts and currencies you choose are not sent with that request.

Information collected automatically

Hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web server, it receives technical information needed to deliver pages, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, and may keep it in short-lived logs for security and troubleshooting.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, for example which tools are visited and from which countries. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies and collects information such as the pages you visit, your browser and device, and an approximate location. We use this information only in aggregate to improve the site. You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Google AdSense and advertising cookies

The site uses Google AdSense to show advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Cookies and your choices

The site itself does not set cookies; the cookies described above are set by Google. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them does not stop the tools from working, although you may still see non-personalized ads.

Where information is processed

Vercel and Google may process information on servers outside Quebec, Canada, including in the United States, where it is subject to local laws.

Your rights

Under Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, you can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, or withdraw your consent. Because we do not run accounts or keep the data you enter in the tools, we generally hold no personal information about you beyond short-lived server logs; information collected by Google is managed through the Google tools linked above. To make a request, write to convertersandformatters@gmail.com. You may also file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the effective date above. See also the terms of use.
